Mayor Pekau could exploit loose "term limits" ordinance to secure four terms in office
Is 16 years a term limit?
Most reasonable people don’t think so, and many Orland Park voters think that “term limits” means 8 years. But not for Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau.
He voted to give himself and his allies up to 16 years in office. The Orland Park Term Limits ordinance passed by Pekau allows him to serve four terms for a total of sixteen years, until the year 2033.

Pekau frequently rails on issues he thinks his conservative base wants to hear but then governs quite contrary to the values of those issues. The "Term Limits" ordinance is just the latest example of a myth he sold.
