Orland Park Village Officials and Staff Tour Parking Facility Under Construction

Orland Park village officials and staff recently visited the Downtown Main Street Parking Structure currently under construction at the corner of 143^rd Street and Ravinia Avenue. The multi-level facility will offer more than 500 parking spaces and an additional 12,000 square feet of commercial space to Downtown Orland Park.

The garage is publicly owned by the village with the University of Chicago having spaces allocated for its use during business hours.

Mayor Dan McLaughlin and Trustees Kathy Fenton and Pat Gira joined village staff and the contractors for a tour of the five story facility that will open in December.

“We were able to see firsthand how well the project is going,” McLaughlin said. “This is a great addition to Downtown Orland Park, enabling people to park and walk what will eventually be a very welcoming pedestrian friendly area.”

Walsh Construction, the contractor building the structure, has created a website that includes updates and other details.

The company’s webcam captures construction activity at both the parking facility and the University of Chicago’s medical building from atop Ninety7Fifty on the Park.
