Orland Park Woman Accused of Beating Up 71-Year-Old Mother
Orland Park woman accused of beating up mom also has pending cases for child abduction and threatening to kill a judge, prosecutor said.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- An Orland Park woman with pending cases for child abduction and threatening a public official is accused of beating up her elderly mother. Wendy Jarvis, 41, appeared before Cook County Judge Donald Havis on a charge of aggravated battery of a victim over age 60. Jarvis was on electronic home monitoring when the alleged incident occurred.
According to the charges, Jarvis’s 71-year-old mother returned home on March 30 to her apartment in the 9500 block of West 140th Court. Jarvis began yelling at her mother about not showing up for her divorce case in court, the prosecutor said. She followed her mother into the bathroom, where her mom prepared to take a shower. Jarvis allegedly grabbed her mother’s arm, causing bruising. She shoved her mother into the bathroom sink, where Jarvis began punching her in the head, the prosecutors said.
Her mother went to bed on the sofa. The next morning, Jarvis was standing over the sofa, the prosecutor said. Jarvis allegedly demanded that her mother help pay her legal bills. Her mom left the apartment and went over to Mariano’s where she called police for help.

The prosecutor mentioned that Jarvis’s passport was flagged at O’Hare International Airport out of concern that she may try to leave the country.
“There are serious and unusual offenses,” Havis said.
Jarvis is facing six child abduction charges when she allegedly abducted her 6-year-old daughter on Dec. 17, 2017 during a supervised visit at the Wild Onion Tied House in Oak Park, after Jarvis told the supervisor she was taking her daughter to the restroom. Jarvis and the child were eventually found in Michigan. The child was unharmed. Jarvis and the child’s father had reportedly been involved in a lengthy custody battle. The child’s father was awarded full custody and ownership of their home in Schiller Park.
In January, she was accused of threatening a judge at the Daley Center, according to court records. Jarvis allegedly sent a threatening message to the judge, stating “she would just not file a complaint against [the judge] but would murder her.”
Jarvis was ordered held on no-bond warrants for violating bail. In addition, Jarvis is to surrender any firearms and stay away from her mother while the case is pending. Bail on the new charge was set at $100,000. Jarvis is due back in court April 26.
