Orland Square Mall Shooting Suspect In Custody: Cops
Orland Park police confirm that they have the suspect in Monday's fatal mall shooting in custody.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- The suspect in Monday’s fatal shooting at Orland Square Mall has apparently been arrested. Jakharr Williams, 20, was the subject of an intensive manhunt after police said he shot a teen to death inside the busy shopping mall. Orland Park police confirmed that they have Williams in custody. Charges are pending.
Around 6:45 p.m. Monday, police responded to the Orland Square Mall after receiving reports of a shooting inside the mall. Officers found 18-year-old Javon Britton shot several times in the chest area. The Richton Park teen was pronounced deceased at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

The mall was evacuated and closed as police SWAT teams searched for the suspect. A man later identified as Williams was seen on mall surveillance video fleeing the mall on foot. Police were able to identify him from witnesses, who said that Williams and Britton had gotten into some type of altercation.
Williams was taken into custody early Wednesday evening by Orland Park police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.

Williams, whose nickname is "Lilbuddy Cappalott" on his now defunct Facebook page, was paroled last June from the Illinois Department of Corrections where he had been serving a three-year sentence for robbery. His age is listed as 20 years old on IDOC records.
