Orland Township Celebrates Older Americans Month
Silver Tones Debut at May Senior Luncheon
More than 100 senior residents enjoyed an afternoon of Italian food, entertainment and good company at Orland Township’s May senior luncheon celebrating Older Americans Month, according to the Office of Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.
The afternoon began with a short concert by the Silver Tones, Orland Township’s Senior Choir led by John Barbush. Guests then dined on a variety of Italian favorites from Orland Park’s Rocco Vino’s and afterwards attendees were serenaded by local entertainer James Libera, who delighted the crowd with his renditions of a variety of hits from the 50’s, 60’s and today.
“I hope everyone enjoyed the luncheon and that the Silver Tones show will encourage more of our seniors to try new things and ‘engage at every age,’ this year’s theme for Older Americans Month,” said Supervisor O’Grady.
