Free, pre-packaged food boxes available for residents on Friday, May 22

Orland Township will hold another free, drive-thru grocery distribution for Township residents who are experiencing financial hardship since the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, according to the office of Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

The Township Food Pantry will have more than 300 boxes packed with perishable and non-perishable grocery items and a gift card to a local grocery store. Proof of residency is required.

“During the two grocery distributions, Orland Township distributed nearly 1,000 food packages, water, pet food and more, demonstrating the community need due to the pandemic,” said Supervisor O’Grady. Because of the generosity and commitment to the community by so many individuals and organizations, we are able to hold another drive-thru distribution.”
