Orland Township Holding “Casting Calls” for Upcoming Events
Orland Township Senior Dating Game and Dancing with the Senior Stars looking for contestants
Orland Township is seeking seniors who are looking for love (or friendship) or fancy themselves skilled dancers who want to strut their stuff to participate in two upcoming events.
Seniors who are looking for companionship and are willing to do it blindly in front of a live audience are invited to try out for Orland Township’s Senior Dating Game. Modeled after the hit television game show “The Dating Game,” contestants will be escorted to private screening rooms before appearing on stage to be asked a variety of questions by a potential match. Winning couples will be treated to a complimentary night on the town.
The casting call for Orland Township’s Senior Dating Game will take place at the Township office, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Men should arrive at 6:30 p.m., women should arrive at 7:30 p.m.

For those seniors who want to show off their dance moves and compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy, Orland Township’s Dancing with the Senior Stars is for you. Single dancers and couples are invited to a “mix and mingle” where competitors will be paired up with a dance partner, if needed, and professional dance coach.
The “mix and mingle” for Orland Township’s Dancing with the Senior Stars will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. at Arthur Murray Dance Center, 16131 S. LaGrange Rd., Orland Park.

Contestants for both events must be age 55 or better and must pre-register for each event by calling Orland Township at (708) 403-4222.
“Orland Township’s Senior Dating Game and Dancing with the Senior Stars have become two of our more popular senior events,” said Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady. “I invite our seniors to try out for and attend both events to experience the fun and entertainment each event has to offer.”
Orland Township’s Senior Dating Game will take place on Thursday, Oct. 4 at Orland Chateau. Tickets are $20 and will go on sale Aug. 27. Orland Township’s Dancing with the Senior Stars will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Georgios Banquets. Tickets are $30 and go on sale Aug. 22. Both events include dinner and cash bar with the show. Proceeds from both events benefit the Orland Township Scholarship Foundation.
