Orland Township Receives Donations

Generous community helps keep Food pantry stocked

Orland Township Food Pantry recently received donations from generous community members to help keep the pantry shelves stocked during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the office of Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

Jim Caliendo presented the Township with a donation on behalf of Jane’s Warriors, the Jane Caliendo Memorial Foundation which is a non-profit organization that provides resources for the Sandburg High School Aquatics program.

Liz Gorman, former Cook County Commissioner, also made a donation to assist with the mission of the Food Pantry.

Residents who are able and would like to assist the Orland Township Food Pantry can do so by donating to the Stock the Pantry Go Fund Me campaign. Individuals wishing to make a donation can go to https://www.gofundme.com/f/orland-township-food-donation-drive to make a donation.

Additionally, Orland Township will hold a drive-thru donation collection to help replenish the shelves of the food pantry. The donation drive will be held Friday, May 29 at Orland Township, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Non-perishable items in demand include: canned fruit, pasta sauce, tuna, broth, cereal, dry potato mix, dry stuffing mix, cake mix and macaroni and cheese.
