Orland Township Recognizes Pet-Palooza Participants

Supervisor O'Grady Thanks Participants and Presents Certificates

Participants of Orland Township’s Pet-Palooza were recognized at the Township’s Monthly Board meeting, according to the office of Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

More than 60 local vendors participated in the 8th annual family friendly event, which serves to raise awareness and funds for Orland Township’s Pet Pantry.

Minnie’s Memorial Fund, founded by Wayne and Joan Hochwarter and named after their beloved dog Minnie who lost her battle with cancer, has been a Top Dog Sponsor of all eight Pet-Paloozas. Minnie’s Memorial Fund pays the veterinarian bills for dogs who come into P.A.W.S. Tinley Park who need extensive medical care. They are funded through the sales of homemade dog bandanas at events like Pet-Palooza.

“Orland Township is very fortunate to have so many groups and organizations participate in Pet-Palooza,” said Supervisor O’Grady. “The event gets bigger and better every year thanks to everyone involved and more importantly raises awareness, funds and supplies for the Township’s Pet Pantry.”

Orland Township’s Pet Pantry, “Crashy’s Closet,” is located inside the Orland Township Food Pantry and provides pet food and supplies for pets whose families are experiencing financial difficulties and relies on the generosity of the community to operate.
