Orland Township Seniors Celebrate Thanksgiving

Great food, great entertainment make for a great afternoon

More than 100 Orland Township seniors celebrated Thanksgiving a few days early at a luncheon hosted by the Township, according to the Office of Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

The sell-out crowd enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, stuffing, carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy, catered by Winston’s Market in Tinley Park. The meal was finished with pumpkin pie with whipped cream for dessert.

After lunch, the seniors enjoyed “Simply Patsy” a Patsy Cline tribute show by local singer Mary Pfeifer.

“I am thankful for our Orland Township seniors and that we are able to host these wonderful luncheons for them, said Supervisor O’Grady. “I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful holiday season.”

The Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon was held Tuesday, November 19, in the Orland Township activity center, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave.
