Orland Township Seniors Making Memories with Grandchildren

Grandparents dance the night away with grandchildren

Whether it was the hokey-pokey, the macarena or the chicken dance, Orland Township seniors spent an evening dancing the night away with their grandchildren at the annual Grandparent – Grandchild Dinner Dance, according to the office of Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

Guests fueled up with an adult and kid friendly dinner of fried chicken and chicken nuggets, baked mostaccioli and mac and cheese, garden salad and cookies for dessert. Then, both grandparents and grandchildren showed off their moves on the dance floor.

“The bond between children and their grandparents is a special one,” said Supervisor O’Grady. “We are so happy to provide this opportunity for grandparents to spend a fun evening and make memories with their grandchildren.”
