Palos Park Woman Charged With Fourth DUI After Crashing in Field: Prosecutor

Orland Park police said a 13-year-old child was found in the front seat after the crash.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A Palos Park woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she crashed her vehicle in a field with a 13-year-old child riding in the front seat, prosecutors said Tuesday in court.

Sandra Colletti, 54, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of aggravated DUI and misdemeanor child endangerment.

According to the charges, on Oct. 17, Orland Park police responded to the 9700 block of West 162nd St. for a report of a crash. When officers arrived they saw a woman, later identified as Colletti, getting out of her vehicle which had come to a rest in an empty field.

Colletti is currently out on a conditional discharge for misdemeanor DUI. She has two other DUIs and served one year in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a drug charge in 2000, the prosecutor said.

“When you have a child in the car and there’s an accident, that’s troublesome,” Felice said.

Bail was set at $150,000. Felice also ordered Colletti to wear an alcohol detection monitor should she bond out of jail.

Colletti’s next court hearing is Nov. 3 in Bridgeview.
