Robber Holds Up Kiosk At Knife Point In Orland Square Mall: Cops

Police say a man armed with a knife robbed the Sprint store kiosk. An employee suffered a superficial wound in scuffle with alleged robber.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- An employee suffered a superficial wound during a scuffle with a knife-armed man robbing a kiosk, police said. The robbery happened Tuesday morning at the Sprint store kiosk inside Orland Square Mall. The man was apparently after cell phones.

Orland Park police said that a man approached the kiosk around 10 a.m. He presented a note to employees announcing a robbery. The man displayed a knife and a scuffle occurred with a male employee, who was cut by the blade. Police said the man fled with an undetermined number of cell phones offered for sale at the kiosk. After the robbery, the man fled through the mall. Police said the purported robber ran through the mall before exiting and entering a white, 4-door Hyundai. The car had tinted windows and no license plates displayed, and is believed to have fled the area.

The offender is described as a male black in his twenties, 5-feet-10-inches, 180 pounds, and wearing a black baseball cap, black North Face sweatshirt and tan pants.
