Rosemont Signature Bank Employees Help Children Fighting Cancer

Rosemont Signature Bank Employees Wear Blue Jeans to Help Children and Teens Fighting Cancer

Signature Bank in Rosemont recently sponsored a Blue Jean Day to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (POTCF). Employees at the bank participated in raising money for the Foundation by making a $5 donation to wear blue jeans to work. The Signature Bank matched their donation. The employees raised $700 for children and teens fighting cancer.

The POTCF is especially grateful to the Signature Bank Family for their generous donation. Ms. Colleen Kisel, Founder of the Treasure Chest Foundation, said, “I am honored to be partnering with a great business who want to give back to children and teens who are battling cancer. Cancer treatment goes on for years and their support will truly bring joy during such a dark time.”

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 13,000 young cancer patients enduring 20,000 clinic visits each month in 19 states across the nation. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 25th anniversary of remission from the disease earlier this year.
