Stagg principal Eric Olsen also followed up Wednesday afternoon with an email to parents. Olsen reiterated that a school resource officer from Palos Hills is employed full time at Stagg, as are local police officers at other Dist. 230 schools, including Sandburg and Andrew.
“The student involved is not in the school and we have been working very closely with Palos Hills Police Department, the student and the student’s family … Please know that situations that happen both in our community and across our country can have a lasting effect on our physical and emotional security. We believe that every member of our community has the right to feel safe and secure. Our efforts, not only at Stagg but across the district support our essential goal of providing a safe place for all students to learn and grow.”
