Laura Schmuck, French teacher at Carl Sandburg High School, was recently awarded the Prix du Chapitre of the Chicago/Northern Illinois Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French.
Criteria for this award include classroom teaching, curriculum development, professional commitment, community involvement and participation in AATF activities.
AATF was founded in 1927 and is the largest national association of French teachers in the world with nearly 10,000 members. The mission of the organization is to promote the study of languages in general and French in particular.
