'She's My Hero,' Orland Park Son Says Of Mom

ORLAND PARK, IL — An Orland Park son shared this heartfelt tribute to his mom as part of Patch's "Share Your Love For Mom" feature. Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 13.

Son Bruce Collum Jr. wrote:

Wilhelmina Collum is THE number one mom. She's always cared about my sisters and me, and she's one person who I know I can trust with all my heart. When things have become tough, she's always thinking of a way, and always including us (my sisters and I) in her plans. She is the nicest person in Orland Park, always keeping a smile on her face, even if she's having a rough day. My Mom always manages to make people feel great, no matter how small the topic she speaks with them about. Everyone that she's met, anytime I go into a store that she's been in, they always tell me about how they love her, how sweet she is, how knowledgeable she is. She's always doing her best to make sure that we get the things we need. This incredible woman has accepted and loved me for who I am. If not for my mom, I would be a much more different person than who I am today, and that's all thanks to her. There are so many different words I can use to describe how much I love and cherish her, but I'll keep it short. She's my hero, and I love her with all my heart.
