Taylor Rental Donates Equipment for Treasure Chest Foundation Fundraiser
Taylor Rental Manager Joie Tarr prepares a donation of chairs at the Taylor Rental Store in Orland Park.

Taylor Rental of Orland Park recently donated nine banquet tables and 56 folding chairs to the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation for a fundraising event called “Cruzin for Kidz with Cancer”, sponsored by Parkview Church Motorcycle Club. The event started at Parkview Church in Orland Park and ended at the Treasure Chest Foundation’s Orland Park warehouse. The successful event featuring a motorcycle ride, free food, raffles and prizes raised more than $2,800 for the Orland Park-based non-profit Foundation that provides comfort in the form of toys and gift cards to children and teens diagnosed with cancer in 48 hospitals nationwide.
Ms. Colleen Kisel, Founder and CEO of the Treasure Chest Foundation, expressed her gratitude for the support shown by her Orland Park neighbor. “I feel so blessed to have the support of Taylor Rental,” said an appreciative Ms. Kisel. “Their donation enabled us to provide the perfect ending for a group of loyal riders who devoted their time and efforts to helping young cancer patients.”
Taylor Rental Manager Joie Tarr drew inspiration from personal experience when deciding to donate to the Treasure Chest Foundation’s fundraiser. “My son had asthma beginning at age three, and he was hospitalized often during the first nine years of his life. I could hear the children with cancer crying in the hospital and that experience changed my life. My heart goes out to these children. We will donate whatever we can when it comes to helping children who are ill. This is one way we can help these brave kids and their families.”

Another Taylor Rental employee’s experience prompted similar motivation for helping kids with cancer. Manager Denise Hrebenak chimed in by saying, “My niece was diagnosed with cancer at the age of three and she benefitted from the Treasure Chest Foundation’s services for four years.” Taylor Rental of Orland Park is a family-owned business that has served the Orland Park vicinity for more than 30 years.
The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 9,000 young cancer patients each month. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. CEO Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 21st anniversary of remission from the disease earlier this year.
