Tinley Park Resident Connects with the Treasure Chest Foundation

Mike Virva pauses for a quick moment before resuming his task of wiring an Ethernet hub at the Treasure Chest Foundation in Orland Park.

Tinley Park resident Mike Virva, an employee of BTS Solutions, acronym for Business Telephone Systems is giving back to children and teens fighting cancer by installing an Ethernet hub to help with faster internet connection, updating the internal network and ultimately improving productivity for the Treasure Chest Foundation.

BTS Solutions, in Lincolnwood, IL, delivers voice, data, carrier, and networking solutions to businesses through a consultative and analytic approach aimed at finding the best solution for their specific needs. BTS has a team of highly experienced, devoted, and skilled personnel who support all of your Telecommunication, IT, wiring, cabling, and carrier needs.

“We are so blessed to have the support of Mike Virva, who generously donated his time of wiring services to get our network up and running faster throughout our offices,” said a thankful Colleen Kisel, Founder and CEO of the Treasure Chest Foundation.

Mike Virva said, “I am happy to help get toys to the kids who have cancer at a much faster speed.”

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services now impact more than 12,500 young cancer patients each month in 18 states across the nation. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 24th anniversary of remission from the disease earlier this year.
