Wiz Kid: Blue Island Man Caught Peeing in Water Fountain at Orland Square Mall Gap, Police Say

The Blue Island man claimed he was merely pouring out his drink, police said.

A Blue Island man faced with having to wait to use the men’s room in the Orland Square Mall Gap chose to relieve himself in a water fountain instead, police said.

Miguel Martinez-Sanchez, 26, was charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly peeing in the Gap water fountain.

Officers sent to the mall met with a store employee who told them “there was a subject urinating in the drinking fountain inside the Gap,” police said.

The employee reportedly “pointed out” Martinez-Sanchez, who was being detained by two other officers. She then told police how she “came out of the back room and observed that Miguel was standing in front of the drinking fountain.”

The employee “could see Miguel from the side and could see a stream of what appeared to be urine coming from his genital area and going into the drinking fountain,” police said. She “could see that from the side Miguel’s pants appeared to be open. Miguel had his hands by his genital area also.”

The Gap worker “later learned from another store employee that a moment before she walked out Miguel had asked to use the restroom and was told that someone was in the men’s bathroom already and he would have to wait,” police said.

An officer spoke with Martinez-Sanchez and he explained that he was merely “dumping out a drink in the drinking fountain,” police said.

“Miguel admitted that he went into the back of the store to use the bathroom but it was occupied,” police said. “Miguel had a strong odor of alcohol based beverages on his breath and slurred speech. He appeared to be intoxicated.”

Martinez-Sanchez was allowed to leave after he was hit with the disorderly conduct charge, police said, and he was driven away by his wife.
