Woman Accused of Submitting Phony Prescription At Meijer for $20

The woman told Orland Park police she met a man at White Castle who paid her $20 to submit a phony prescription at Meijer, cops said.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A Grundy County woman was arrested after she was caught submitting a phony prescription at the Meijer’s pharmacy in Orland Park, prosecutors said. Sandra Haddon, 35, of Morris, appeared before Cook County Judge John Mahoney on a felony charge of forgery. Haddon is also facing a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Orland Park police answered a call of a deceptive practice in progress at Meijer’s, 15701 71st Ct around 2:30 p.m. Aug. 4. The prosecutor said Haddon submitted a prescription to the pharmacist and was told to come back in an hour to pick it up. The pharmacy contacted the physician, and was able to confirm that the physician did not write the prescription, according to the charges. Police were waiting for Haddon when she returned to pick up the prescription, the prescription said.

Haddon allegedly told police that she met someone at White Castle, who offered to pay her $20 to go to Meijer and submit a phony prescription. The prosecutor said that Haddon is currently on probation in Grundy County for possession of a controlled substance.
