166 District 308 High School Students Designated State Scholars

OSWEGO, IL — Of Oswego School District 308 high school seniors graduating in 2022, 166 of them have received State Scholar recognition from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, district officials announced Monday.

Each year since 1958, students are recognized by the agency — a source for college planning and financial aid — for their academic achievement. Each student receives a congratulatory letter and certificate of achievement from ISAC when chosen.

"We are very proud of these students from both Oswego East High School and Oswego High School for receiving this distinguished recognition of being Illinois State Scholars," John Sparlin, superintendent of schools, said in a statement. "These students are not only committed and dedicated to their academic achievements but are also great leaders and volunteers in our schools and community."
