19 Oswego Students Sign Letters Of Intent For Fall Collegiate Sports
Student-athletes' years of hard work culminate in committing to a verbal scholarship offer they received from their college.
OSWEGO, IL — Nineteen seniors at Oswego high schools have signed letters of intent to play fall sports at the collegiate level, Oswego School District 308 officials announced.
National Letter of Intent Signing Day, held most recently on Nov. 8, has become a celebrated event for many sports as student-athletes' years of hard work culminate in committing to a verbal scholarship offer they received from their college for the next academic school year.
The event, which takes place in the spring as well, also traditionally marks the first day a high school senior can sign a binding National Letter for a collegiate sport with a school that's a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

"Congratulations to these [student-athletes] and continued success in your academic and athletic endeavors," Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations Theresa Komitas wrote in a news release.
