21-Year-Old Dies After Motorcycle Crash In Oswego: Police

Emergency personnel provided medical intervention, but the driver died at the scene, Oswego police said.

OSWEGO, IL — A 21-year-old Oswego man died after a motorcycle crash Friday night, according to police.

Emergency personnel responded about 8 p.m. to Route 34 and Boulder Hill Pass and provided medical intervention, but Austin M. Komar died at the scene, Oswego police said.

Komar was traveling west on Route 34 when his motorcycle left the road and he fell off, hitting a utility pole, according to police, who said witnesses saw Komar disregard a traffic control signal and estimated he was speeding at 100 mph when he lost control of the vehicle.

Route 34 was closed from Boulder Hill Pass to Wolfs Crossing Road for about five hours while police reconstructed the incident, authorities said.
