PrairieFest Takes Over Oswego This Weekend: See Entertainment Lineup
PrairieFest Park will be bustling with the annual parade, carnival, cotton-candy-eating contest and more events this weekend.
OSWEGO, IL — PrairieFest is taking over Oswego this weekend, marking the return of the annual parade, carnival, cotton-candy-eating contest and more events.
PrairieFest Park, at 91 Plank Drive, will be bustling with activities for four days. To make the event sweeter, admission, parking and entertainment are free.
In addition to live music, PrairieFest's entertainment includes a Division BMX show, featuring high-flying bike stunts, and Prime Time Racing, a Nascar-style race. The popular cotton candy-eating contest and touch-a-truck events are planned, too.

Windy City Amusements, PrairieFest's carnival provider for more than 30 years. These are the hours of operation and prices for the carnival:
Thursday

- Hours: 5:30-10 p.m., with unlimited wristbands costing $35
Friday
- Hours: Noon to 10 p.m.
- Unlimited wristbands cost $30 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. and $40 from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
Saturday
- Hours: Noon to 10 p.m.
- Unlimited wristbands cost $30 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. and $40 from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
Sunday
- Hours: 1-6 p.m.
- Unlimited wristbands cost $30 from 1:30-5:30 p.m.
After 5 p.m., riders will be required to purchase a $10 ticket sheet or unlimited wristband

Runners will take to the PrairieFest 5K race that will kick off at 8 a.m. Sunday, with a one-mile run beginning at 8:10 a.m. The parade will step off at noon Sunday at Jefferson and Garfield streets.
The PrairieFest Expo Village, petting zoo and Little White School Museum's quilt show will take place on each of the four days.
