32 D202 Elementary Musicians Slated To Participate In ILMEA Festival

The fifth-grade students will work with music teachers before performing a concert in the afternoon.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Almost three dozen fifth-grade students from Plainfield School District 202 schools were tapped to participate in the Illinois Music Educators Association District 9 Elementary General Music and Chorus Festival.

Happening Oct. 26 at Yorkville Middle School, the event brings together musicians from across the area. Music teachers nominate students to attend the festival in either general music — which includes instruments such as drumming, xylophones and recorders — or choir.

The 32 Plainfield students will work with teachers and other District 9 students during the day to present a concert for show-goers in the afternoon.
