6 Cars Crash On Route 34: 2 Drivers Hospitalized, 5 Cars Towed
Oswego police were dispatched around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday to the six-car crash at the intersection of Route 34 and Fifth Street.

OSWEGO, IL — Six cars crashed Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Route 34 and Fifth Street, requiring two drivers to be extricated from their cars, according to police.
Officers were dispatched at 4:10 p.m. to the scene when they determined a Chevy Malibu was driving west on Route 34 when it turned left onto southbound Fifth Street, cutting off a Hyundai Elantra that was driving in the opposite direction on Route 34, according to spokesperson Cathy Nevara.
The Elantra hit the passenger side of the Chevy before the two cars hit another four vehicles stopped at the light on Fifth Street. The driver of both cars that initially crashed needed to be extricated from their cars and transported to Rush Copley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
