7 Oswego Students Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists
Seven Oswego High School students have been named semifinalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship competition.
OWEGO, IL – Seven Oswego High School students have been named semifinalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship competition.
They are among 16,000 semifinalists nationwide who will compete for 7,600 National Merit Scholarships, worth about $30 million.
The semifinalists from Oswego East High School are: Liam Fitzpatrick and Kyle Twardowski.

The semifinalists from Oswego High School are: Nicholas Alonzo, Autumn Bartle, Kayla Fichtel, Porter Leigh and Paul Ricken.
In order to become a National Merit Finalist, students must have an outstanding academic high school record, be endorsed and recommended by the school principal, and earn qualifying SAT scores.

About 1.5 million high school juniors in more than 21,000 high schools entered the 2021 National Merit Program by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
