Quotable I: βOur kids never gave upβjust like they never gave up all year,β Plainfield North coach Tim Kane said. βWe talk about it all the timeβkeep hammering, keep battling. And they did it. We had so much adversity, some of it self-inflicted and some of it not self-inflicted. But it doesnβt matter. Our kids never gave up. They never quit. Iβm so proud of them.β
Quotable II: βI saw it as complete,β Kane said of Thomsβ attempt to haul in a potential-game tying touchdown pass in the final seconds. βHis feet were in. He dives down and makes a great catch.β
Quotable III: βI played the best defense I could,β Oswegoβs Elliot McGaughy said. βAnd it was no catch. I didnβt think he (Thoms) caught the ball. But I guess he caught it out of bounds. Hey, a win is a win.β
Quotable IV:Β βThe touchdown passes,β Oswegoβs Jack Kwiatkowski said of his favorite big plays for the Panthers. βBut, of course, a blocked punt is big momentum. Team offense, special teams. Iβm just doing my job out there.β
Quotable V: βOne of the goals we set for the defense this year was to improve in the red zone, improve in the area weβre standing in right now,β Oswego coach Brian Cooney said. βAnd how ironic that it comes down to your playoff lives and they step up.β
