Alert Citizen Foils Vehicle Burglary: Oswego Police

Oswego Police encourage community members to stay alert and report suspicious activity after citizen tipped them to a burglary.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Police Department is giving kudos to an Ogden Falls Neighborhood citizen who alerted police to a vehicle burglary on Friday, June 16. According to a police department Facebook post, the citizen called 911 when they noticed a male walking around the neighborhood acting suspiciously, and Oswego Police Officers were dispatched to the area.

Officers approached the suspect as he was burglarizing a vehicle.

Police reported the male was charged with Burglary to a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Burglary Tools.
