Appointment For Trustee Vacancy To Be Brought Before Village Board
Village President Ryan Kauffman chose to appoint Thomas Collins, an Oswego resident of 17 years.
OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Village Board will vote June 13 on whether or not to appoint Village President Ryan Kauffman's selection for the open trustee position.
Kauffman's appointment is Thomas Collins, a 17-year resident of Oswego who has experience serving as a trustee for the Grundy Kendall Regional Board of Education and his homeowner's association board.
Collins has also given his time volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America and American Legion Post 675, officials said in a news release.

"Tom brings a love of Oswego to everything he does," Kauffman said in a statement. "His professional experience and project management skills as an information technology leader will bring a fresh perspective to the Board."
The vacancy was created in May when Luis Perez resigned from the role — about a month after the election. Village officials cited his decision to pursue an out-of-state job as the reason for his departure, Patch reported.
