Armed Robbery Reported On Route 34: Oswego Police
Police took a report for an armed robbery at 2791 Route 34, the location of a BP gas station and U-Haul dealer.
OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police are investigating a report of an armed robbery around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at 2791 Route 34 in Oswego.
According to a blotter released by Oswego police, the crime was committed by a robber wearing a mask and brandishing a handgun, "which may or may not have been real," according to the report.
A BP gas station and U-Haul moving truck dealer are at the address listed in the report.

Although nothing was taken from the business, two male victims reported their wallets, cash, credit cards, a cell phone and jewelry were stolen after the suspect approached them outside the shop, displaying what appeared to be a gun. The items had an approximate value of $2,000, police spokesperson Cathy Nevara told Patch.
The suspect — whose gender was unknown — is described as wearing a black mask and all black clothing.

Police were unsuccessful in locating the person after checking the surrounding area and businesses, according to the report. Nevara said the person was last seen fleeing on foot eastbound from the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing. The blotter from Oswego police originally listed the case as closed by mistake, Nevara said.
