Car Hijacked At Gunpoint In Boulder Hill: Kendall County Sheriff

Carjackers spotted a car that was for sale online, and brandished guns as they took it from the seller, officials said.

OSWEGO, IL — A car was stolen at gunpoint in the Boulder Hill subdivision in unincorporated Kendall County, according to the sheriff's office.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident that happened in the 0-100 block of Seneca Drive as an aggravated vehicular hijacking.

Deputies were contacted around 9:03 p.m. Monday by the victim, who said they posted a car for sale on an online marketplace. Someone contacted them to make arrangements to see the car, then brandished guns and took the car, according to a news release.

The car was later recovered in Lake County, Indiana, located just across the border with Illinois. No injuries were reported in the incident, officials said.

Kendall County detectives are working with the Lake County Sheriff's Office on the investigation. Officials said it appears to be an isolated incident, but the investigation remains ongoing.
