Car Shot Up In Oswego, 2 Charged With Felonies: Police

An Aurora woman and a Riverdale man were charged with felonies after an investigation into a shooting in Oswego, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — An Aurora woman and a Riverdale man were charged with felonies in connection to a shooting Friday morning in the 400 block of Blue Ridge Drive in Oswego, police said.

Officers were dispatched at 11:38 a.m. to the residential area after someone reported damage to a car and possible shots fired. Police discovered a car parked in a driveway with bullet hole damage and slashed tires, according to a news release.

The offenders fled while police were en route, prompting officers to set up a perimeter. When the suspects weren't found, police began canvassing the area and processing the scene.

Police identified the two suspects involved, 20-year-old Brianna Venson and 22-year-old Marcus Franklin, and found them in Woodridge using license plate reader camera data, officials said.

Franklin, of the 14000 block of South Dearborn Street in Riverdale, and Venson, of the 1900 block of Westridge Place in Aurora, were arrested and taken into custody by Woodridge police. Franklin was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, and criminal damage to property, all felonies. Venson was charged with felony criminal damage to property.

Both were taken to the Oswego Police Department for processing and to the Kendall County jail. Venson's next court date is set for March 4, while Franklin's is on Tuesday.
