“Oswego is at a pivotal point in its growth and the future of our village will depend on the decisions we make today. As a long-time resident and active member of the community, I look forward to the opportunity to represent the interests of our diverse community as we move forward together,” McCarthy-Lange said in a press release.

A resident of Oswego since 2003, McCarthy-Lange said she will make economic development one of her top priorities.
“Bringing in more commercial business, light industry and retail will create a more balanced tax revenue stream that currently relies too heavily on homeowners. Such development will also increase the chances of residents spending their money locally, as opposed to shopping in neighboring towns,” she said in a statement. “As one of the older communities in the area, our downtown is rich in history, and perhaps the best opportunity for future growth. We really have only scratched the surface of its full potential. If developed responsibly, it will become the heart and soul of our community.”
