Chicago Emergency Vehicles Show Returns To Oswego

A lights and sirens procession will kick things off in North Aurora, Aurora, Montgomery and Oswego on Friday.

OSWEGO, IL — Downtown Oswego will be the site of 20th annual Chicago Emergency Vehicles Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5. Hosted by Oswego Firefighters Local #4773 and the Village of Oswego, the event will kick off with a lights and sirens procession starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at the Farmers Insurance/Everest College parking lot at 150 S. Route 31 in North Aurora. The hourlong procession will then wind its way through Aurora, Montgomery and Oswego.

The main event returns to downtown Oswego on Saturday, featuring displays of new and vintage emergency vehicles, live demonstrations of police, firefighting and rescue operations, safety displays, kids' activities, public safety equipment, toy and memorabilia vendors, food and more.

The event is free to the public, with free parking available throughout downtown Oswego. The schedule is as follows:

  • 1000 hours Posting of the Colors/ Honor Guard/Pipes and Drums/Moira sings National Anthem
  • 1100 hours Aurora SRT / Trailer Assault
  • 1130 hours Oswego Fire/ single vehicle crash / extrication/ library
  • 1230 hours Plainfield Police K-9 Demonstration
  • 1300 hours Oswego Fire TRT / Rappelling from tower ladder
  • 1400 hours Fire Extinguisher Demo / Live Fire / Alec / Crowd Participation
  • 1430 hours Kendall SRT/ car take down/ car to be used for extrication at 1500
  • 1500 hours Oswego Fire single vehicle crash/extrication/ library
  • 1530 hours Awards Ceremony
  • 1600 hours Show Ends

Pre-registration is encourages for all emergency vehicles to allow for faster checkin and staging. Private collectors can register for free on-site the day of the show. Registration and vehicle staging starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, and the show opens at 10 a.m.

The Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show is the Midwest’s largest public emergency vehicle show. Government agencies, museums, companies, manufacturers and individual collectors are all welcome to display their emergency vehicles.
