Oswego native to graduate summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh
Emily Mensing, of Oswego, IL is graduating summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in both history and political science. Mensing is also graduating with an honors distinction and a double minor in legal and gender, sexuality, and women's studies.

During her time in college, Mensing was a university peer advisor, teaching assistant, resident assistant and member of the Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She will be starting her Juris Doctor degree at the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, in September.

Oswego student graduates university with English degree
Danielle Johnsen, of Oswego, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Dubuque on April 30 with a degree in English and minors in both biology and Spanish. She has been accepted to the University of Iowa to pursue her Ph.D. in biological anthropology.

Oswego student participates in symposium for scholarship and creativity
Kijana Caldwell, of Oswego, 60543, recently participated in the University of Findlay's 2022 Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity.
Caldwell received the Mancuso Award.
Undergraduate and graduate students were given the opportunity to share their research, creativity, and professional learning experiences with the University and community, with many students receiving honors at the same time. The symposium may be viewed at www.findlay.edu/offices/academic/ssc2022.

Oswego students inducted into Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi
The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
- Claire Boyle of Oswego at DePaul University
- Jorge Castellanos of Oswego at DePaul University
- Ryan Harden of Oswego at DePaul University
- Cheryl Fauth of Oswego at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- Summer Bergmann of Oswego at Bradley University
They are among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Oswego student finishes master's degree at Utah State University
Kelsilyn Matteson (from 60543) is a candidate to graduate from Utah State University with a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration. Matteson is eligible to earn a degree from USU Orem and is among the 6,588 students eligible to receive degrees and certificates from USU's statewide campuses or USU Online. The 2022 graduating class includes graduates from summer and fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters.
