Oswego native named to Georgia Southwestern State University academic achievement list

Michael Drennon, a resident of Oswego, IL, made the Fall 2022 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University and was among 596 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

To be eligible for the Academic Achievement List, a student must previously earn at least 12 credit hours at GSW, be enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of courses, and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Oswego students named to UW-Whitewater dean's list

The following Oswego students were named to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean's List for the 2022 fall semester.

  • Oswego, IL 60543: Caroline Darling
  • Oswego, IL 60543: Jarek Slavin
  • Oswego, IL 60543: Jaime Rasmussen

These students have demonstrated their academic abilities by receiving a grade point average of 3.4 or above in a single semester.

"Making the Dean's List is a tremendous honor for our students. It is a recognition of their hard work and commitment to success," said Robin Fox, who serves as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. "Congratulations to all of our students! We are proud of you and hope to see your names on the list again."

The Registrar's Office reports 3,430 students were selected for the Dean's List for the fall semester. About 11,000 students are currently enrolled at the university's Whitewater and Rock County campuses.

Emory & Henry student of Oswego named to fall 2022 dean's list

Nicolas Cerrato of Oswego has been named to the Emory & Henry College fall 2022 Dean's list. To be named to the Dean's list, students must be full-time students and receive a 3.6 GPA for the semester.

MSOE dean's list names several Oswego students

Milwaukee School of Engineering congratulates students named to the Fall Quarter 2022 Dean's List.

  • Ian Glashagel of Oswego (60543). Glashagel is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering at MSOE.
  • Alexis Countryman of Oswego (60543). Countryman is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Civil Engineering at MSOE.
  • Andrew Torres of Oswego (60543). Torres is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at MSOE.
  • Hannah Knoblock of Oswego (60543). Knoblock is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at MSOE.

Undergraduate students who have earned at least 30 credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher (out of 4.0) are on the Dean's List. Students who have maintained a 3.70 or higher receive "high honors."

Kaitlyn Grove helps stage "Grounded" at UW-Whitewater

Kaitlyn Grove from Oswego, IL, who is studying Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was a member of the creative team, serving in the role of Light Board Operator in "Grounded" by George Brant.

An unexpected pregnancy ends an ace fighter pilot's career in the sky. Reassigned to operate military drones from a windowless trailer outside Las Vegas, she hunts terrorists by day and returns to her family each night. As the pressure to track a high-profile target mounts, the boundaries begin to blur between the desert in which she lives and the one she patrols half a world away.

The production, directed by Bruce Cohen, ran at Hicklin Studio Theatre in the Greenhill Center of the Arts from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, 2022.
