Fire Ignites After 3 Cars Crash In Oswego: Police

Three cars were involved in the crash that occurred Monday at Orchard and Mill roads, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — A car caught fire in a three-car crash Monday afternoon at Mill and Orchard roads in Oswego, according to police.

A Plano driver was headed east on Mill Road at about 12:40 p.m. when he crashed into a car, driven by a Glen Ellyn man. The second car subsequently hit another vehicle, driven by an Oswego man, officials said.

The first car caught fire as a result of the collision, police spokesperson Cathy Nevara told Patch.

The drivers of the first and second cars were taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora for non-life-threatening injuries. The Plano man was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, Nevara said.

Officers shared an alert on Facebook at 12:53 p.m. asking drivers to avoid the area while an investigation is underway. Officials updated the post at 2:39 p.m. to say the roadway had cleared.
