• Dr. Vernon C. “Vern” Witte, Ph.D, 71, of Yorkville, passed away Dec. 26. The fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus was also a St. Patrick Catholic Church member. Memorials can be made to Knights of Columbus, Council #14463.
• James Edward Hopkins, 65, of Yorkville, passed away Dec. 29. He enjoyed woodcarving, photography, birdwatching and traveling to National Parks. Memorials can be made to the Kendall County Food Pantry, Yorkville; or the American Diabetes Association, Alexandria, VA.
• Marcella A. Wollenweber, 95, of Yorkville, passed away Dec. 29. The lifetime member of Cross Lutheran Church took part in the church's Ladies Aid, the Lutheran Child Family Services, church choir and alter guild.

• James E. "Jim" Kyes Sr., 69, of Montgomery, passed away Dec. 26. The retired carpenter enjoyed outdoor activities and was a member of the Tiger Club, Raven Masonic Lodge #303.
