• Oswego man charged after hours-long police standoff (wspynews.com) — Oswego police have arrested a 44-year-old local man in connection with an incident two weeks ago that triggered an hours-long standoff and a shelter-in-place order for nearby neighborhoods. Authorities allege he threatened first responders and fired a gun during a domestic-related call; he now faces aggravated battery and aggravated assault charges and remains jailed pending a November court date.
   

• Oswego Senior Center seeks $66,000 from village for 2027 (wspynews.com) — Oswego's Senior Center is asking the village for a 10% funding increase to $66,000 for 2027, citing rising attendance and limited staff. Leaders say the money would support transportation, grief services, and social programs for older residents, with trustees set to weigh the request during the village's Oct. 24 budget workshop.
