Former Student Arrested After Oswego HS Lockdown Incident: Police

Police said the person in custody is a 17-year-old former student.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego Police Department officials said they've arrested a male teen as a result of their investigation into an incident that led to a Thursday morning lockdown at Oswego High School. Police said they've arrested a 17-year-old former student at the high school after he was reported to have the building "under false pretenses" with a plastic replica of an airsoft gun in his possession.

According to police, the teen was taken into custody and taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center with approval from the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office, where a juvenile court hearing was scheduled for Friday morning.

Police said the teen was arrested unauthorized possession of a weapon.

According to school officials, Thursday's lockdown began at 8:31 a.m. and ended at 8:38 a.m., and students returned to their normal daily schedule
