Homecoming Parade Will Impact Downtown Oswego Streets, Cause Delays

Oswego High School will celebrate homecoming Sunday with its annual parade through downtown Oswego.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego High School will celebrate homecoming Sunday with its annual parade through downtown Oswego.

The parade will step off at 3 p.m. and last an hour. The following streets are on the parade route:

  • Route 71
  • Route 34
  • Garfield Street
  • Jefferson Street
  • Main Street
  • Tyler Street
  • Ashland Street
  • Washington Street
  • Franklin Street

Many of the streets on the route run through the downtown area and will be periodically stopped to make way for the procession. Police said drivers should expect delays and take alternate routes to avoid them.

Police, community service offices, public safety cadets and Citizen Police Academy Alumni of Aurora members will be stationed at the intersections most affected by the parade route to assist with traffic control.
