Kendall County Coronavirus Update: 335 Cases, 12 Deaths

All three deceased women were in their 80s.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department reported a total of 335 cases of COVID-19 in the county with 32 new cases as of Monday, May 4.

According to a news release from county health officials, 165 cases are in recovery, with three new deaths, bringing the total to 12. All three deaths were women in their 80s and no other information was given regarding pre-existing health complexities.

Health officials on Monday reported 2,341 new cases of the coronavirus in Illinois and 46 additional deaths, bringing the statewide total to 63,840 confirmed cases and 2,662 deaths. The U.S. now has nearly 1.2 million confirmed coronavirus infections, according to Johns Hopkins University, and more than 68,326 Americans have died from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus.

More than half of all reported COVID-19 cases within Kendall County are in recovery as of Monday, according to county health data. Nearly 40 percent are recovering at home and about 4 percent are in the hospital.
