Newark Man Charged With Possession And Dissemination Of Child Pornography: Kendall County Sheriff's Office
A Newark man was charged with possession and dissemination of child pornography.
On June 11, 2021, Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Detectives received information based on a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that an online user was disseminating child pornography. Detectives initiated a criminal investigation into the NCMEC tip. During the investigation, numerous subpoenas were obtained to determine the identity of the user.
On October 19, 2021, detectives from the Sheriff’s Office, assisted by detectives from the Yorkville Police Department, Plano Police Department, and members of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office High Tech Crime Bureau, executed a search warrant pursuant to the investigation.

As a result of this investigation, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges against Michael Wicklatz, a 45-year-old male from the 14000 block of Lisbon Rd in Newark. He has been charged with four counts of Child Pornography. Two of the charges are Class X felonies for dissemination and the other two are Class 2 felonies for possession.
Wicklatz was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. His bond has been set at $100,000/10%.
