Large Fire, Water Main Break Affects Water Pressure In Oswego: Village

OSWEGO, IL — A large fire and water main break occurred late Wednesday morning in Oswego, affecting water pressure downtown, village officials said.

Officials said the water main break happened in the old downtown area but did not give additional details about the incident or the fire.

As a result, the village issued a boil order minutes before 1 p.m. for the area from Main Street south of Route 71, with Wilson Place on the north and Forest Avenue on the east.

Residents in the area may be experiencing low water pressure.

Public Works crews are going door to door notifying businesses and residents of the boil order, which will remain in place for 24 hours.
