Limelight Continues Season with Seuss

When the 2011 season was announced and all of us musical theater kids saw Seussical was in the line up, there was leaping and wailing and great rejoicing. There is very much of the same around my house as the performances of this incredible show take the stage this week.

Seussical, The Musical takes story lines and characters from several of the famed poet and political cartoonist's work. The show features favorites like Horton the Elephant, the Grinch, Thing 1 and Thing 2, and, of course, the residents of WhoVille.

In the show, Horton finds himself in a pinch when he discovers the tiny flying spec of dust that houses WhoVille....except no one believes there is anything on that spec of dust and that Horton is nuts! All the while he is charged with taking care of Amayzing Mayzie's tree top nest. Needless to say, the plots intertwine, conflict arises, and trouble in"seuss."

Seussical, The Musical! will take the stage at 7 p.m. through Saturday at at the . Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 630-554-1010.
