Loaded Gun Found On Man Driving 35 MPH Over Speed Limit: Oswego Police

Police pulled over a man Tuesday for driving 80 mph in a 45-mph zone when they discovered the loaded, stolen firearm, officials said.

OSWEGO, IL — Police discovered a loaded, stolen gun on a Montgomery man Tuesday after pulling him over for driving 35 mph over the speed limit, officials said.

Officers arrested 32-year-old Dominique Ruffin after the traffic stop that took place at about 1:37 p.m. The man was charged with three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, speeding 26-plus mph over the limit, possession of cannabis by a driver, and expired registration.

Ruffin, of the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue in Montgomery, was processed at the Oswego Police Department and taken to the Kendall County jail. He was released on pre-trial status and has a pending court date of March 20.
