OSWEGO, IL — A 22-year-old Oswego man faces multiple accounts of criminal sexual assault of an underage teen, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office announced. Jacob Daniel Neumann turned himself in Thursday after a joint investigation by the sheriff's office and Oswego police.

The sheriff's office said an investigation began in December 2017 "when it was reported that a family acquaintance alleged to have committed an act of sexual penetration with a minor ... whom he was caring for." Police said the victim was between 13 and 17 years of age at the time.

The Kendall County State’s Attorney Office filed charges against Neumann on May 11.
