Man In Ski Mask Robs Cell Phone Seller At Gunpoint: Oswego Police
A 29-year-old man was trying to sell a cell phone around 1:40 a.m. when a young man pointed a gun and demanded the phone, police said.
OSWEGO, IL — A 29-year-old man attempting to sell a mobile phone early Friday morning was the victim of an armed robbery, according to Oswego police.
Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Norway Place around 1:40 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery. A man, meeting someone in order to sell a phone, was in his driveway when the currently unknown person drove up in a silver SUV — which police said appeared to be an older Jeep Cherokee — stepped out holding a gun and asked about the phone. After the man handed over the phone, the person retreated toward the SUV, according to police.
Authorities said a family member, concerned about the transaction taking place at a late hour, reportedly witnessed the incident. The family member, an active FOID cardholder, pointed a handgun at the offender and told him to drop the phone and leave, officials said.
